Next-Gen dMRV powered by Sota Computer Vision For Regenerative Finance (ReFi)
What is Carbontribe
Carbontribe is a "Preserving Nature to Earn" protocol by Carbontribe Labs, that aims to transform the carbon sequestration capabilities of forests, soil, and biodiversity into tradable value, creating an alternative economy. The project operates under the ReFi (Regenerative Finance) framework and consists of a team based in Berlin and Amsterdam with extensive experience in developing B2B technology businesses, Web3, and computer vision/AI machine learning. They have also successfully launched blockchain projects in Estonia.
At the core of the project is the development of computer vision dMRV (Digital Monitoring Reporting and Verification) technology, which utilizes satellite images and data on forest and soil biodiversity, among other relevant data, to accurately measure the CO2 reduction capacity of any location worldwide. This dMRV technology enables the generation of carbon credit tokens that can be traded in both traditional and decentralized voluntary carbon markets. The primary target audience for these tokens are forest owners, whether they are individuals or corporations.
By using these carbon credit tokens, companies can offset their carbon footprint and actively contribute to the establishment of a sustainable alternative economy. The generated data from the dMRV system is recorded on the blockchain, and partnerships with internationally recognized certification bodies like VERRA and Goldstandard ensure that the carbon credits can be converted into official carbon credits suitable for ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) purposes by major companies. Furthermore, Carbontribe is exploring integration possibilities with platforms such as Open Forest Protocol (OFP), Regen Network, Eco Registry, Senken, and others to facilitate the exchange of carbon credit tokens.
The project is considering blockchain (DLT) platforms such as Ethereum, Polygon, Solana, NEAR, and Hedera Hashgraph.
For Satellite image data partner, we are working with Google Earth Engine team.
